Since the 21st century, people have gradually realized that a new production relationship

has been formed among education, research and industry,Therefore, a. Ş. Of ideege hi tech Park invited atolye labs

 to design a public facility building to foster interdisciplinary exchanges and cooperation in the Science Park of Izmir center, a new metropolis in northern Turkey.
At the end of the project, a new and dynamic research exchange center formed by 35 refitted second-hand containers

will be presented in the campus, which will serve as the main dynamic center for introducing talents to ejie University in Izmir and Aegean.



The project began with the discovery of a site on the campus where buildings were demolished.

Through the reuse of second-hand containers provided by Izmir port 12 kilometers away,
The design team can use underutilized building materials to upgrade an underutilized base.
The investigation of the base, the orientation of the sun, the current situation of the circulation of the campus route,

 the wind direction, the shade area and the outline of the buildings in front of it all contribute to the establishment

of a meaningful and financially feasible program overall planning.Volume organization and meet the most basic use of the circulatory system.

Connecting the scenarios of the possibility of interaction among users helps to promote the whole process of communication in art, design and technology.
In addition, a vertical "Lighthouse" container contains an indoor courtyard, narrow cross traffic corridor and sufficient seats,

 which provides a place for research and rest as well as spontaneous encounters and play.





In addition to using a large number of recycling and reuse materials, the project also shows a wide range of ecological strategies.

In the arrangement of containers, the wider side is arranged in the north-south direction,
In this way, passive solar energy and natural ventilation can be maximized.
Using the existing trees as the best sunshade facilities can let the sunlight into the room from the south to the window.

In addition, the thick insulation design, efficient air conditioning.For example, the utilization of natural

materials of cork and LED lighting system are conducive to minimize the impact of the building on nature.






In the long run, the adaptability and flexibility design of the building core and shell is its biggest asset,

and the project highlights a variety of technical details,For example, the exposure of beams and columns, visible electronic tray,

sufficient sockets, high-capacity ventilation equipment, local controllable heating and cooling system

and supporting substructure system conducive to the construction of partition wall in the future.
All these systems are conducive to modifying the space system at any time. In the base, catalyst like communication

places are placed programmatically, and modular furniture with self layout is adopted.
In order to facilitate demolition and relocation, we hope that the project will become an outstanding

architectural prototype of an exciting and vibrant community in Izmir and even the whole world.
