Saxony is the cradle of Germany's industrialization.

As part of the fourth Saxony exhibition held at the Audi hall in Zwickau,

it will show Germany's 500 year industrial culture history.

 In order to meet the needs of the exhibition,

 the temporary exhibition hall should

not only meet the technical requirements of high passenger flow,

but also meet the sustainability requirements of this era.

This cool looking "black box" is the entrance Pavilion of the 2020 Saxony exhibition.

 It is jointly built by architects aff Architekten,

Georgi architektur, Ilja oelschl ä gel Produkt design,

and is composed of multiple recycled containers.

The total construction area of the pavilion is 6600 square meters.

The container exhibition hall is built next to an original factory building.

The existing building was designed and built by Audi United Ag from 1938 to 1939.

In order to achieve the goal of minimizing costs,

the use of steel is reduced as much as possible during construction.

The main exhibition hall is set in the plant,

and around the plant is the entrance and slope system.

Multiple containers are spliced on the steel frame to form a channel.

This design is to facilitate the reception of visitors to the exhibition

and guide them into the workshop to visit the former industrial assembly and production hall.

Except that the entrance Pavilion is transformed from recycled containers,

the internal and surrounding elements also follow this reuse mode.

 Use the existing industrial products and combine them to radiate new functions,

such as developing tool cabinets and lockers, automobile tires, seat furniture, etc.

Such issues as industrial heritage,

product exchange and recycling process can be understood as a form of aesthetics.
